Qapla’: 11 Years of Reliability for eCommerce Shipping

Eleven years mean operational continuity and clear accountabilityz. They’re the assurance that, even at seasonal peaks, processes hold up because there’s a solid, well-tested system behind them—built to be resilient and reliable: mature processes, always-available support, expertise, and numbers that speak for themselves.

Qapla’: a growth story

Qapla’ was born in 2014 from a customer need and an intuition by Roberto Fumarola and Luca Cassia: to take control of the post-shipping phase of eCommerce—at the time scarcely overseen and split across different systems, carriers, sales channels (eCommerce, marketplaces, etc.), with customers waiting for information and answers.
The initial goal was to unify all information in a single place and, while we were at it, combine tracking and communications to reduce hiccups, give merchants and customers end-to-end visibility, and turn the classic “where is my order?” into an orderly, traceable, measurable flow.

Over the years that idea became a method; after two years, labels were added, since this was a recurring request from eCommerce managers. With growing volumes and expansion into new markets, Qapla’ progressively integrated over 450 carriers for tracking, and about 50 for label generation—everything in a single interface, to keep process consistency regardless of the chosen logistics partner.
This translates into more predictable operations, fewer exceptions, more first-attempt deliveries, a lighter customer care workload, and the ability to close the loop—with your own brand—from order to delivery. The numbers are clear and validation comes from the market: more than 1,000 eCommerce businesses in Italy and across Europe choose Qapla’, achieving outstanding results in multiple sectors (retail, fashion, home, beauty, pharmacy, food, and more). Every new integration, onboarding, and go-live has helped refine replicable processes and best practices, reducing manual steps and idle time.
To date, Qapla’ has handled more than 145 million shipments, with steady growth over time.

What has really changed in these 11 years

  • First and foremost, the eCommerce market: the needs of both merchants and end customers have changed. Greater efficiency and greater control over processes are expected.

  • From simple “shipping” to the “delivery experience”: no longer just labels and tracking, but delivery as a moment of relationship with the customer across multiple channels—email, SMS, WhatsApp, and the tracking page—that inform, reassure, and open up a new communication space.

  • Power to data: control and operations in a single channel, exportable and analyzable information, proactive alerts to act before customers even notice the problem. In addition, monitoring shipping rates and costs is another key point for leveraging data to your advantage.

  • From home delivery to out-of-home (OOH/PUDO): the rise of pickup points and lockers needs to be supported by technology, so end customers can choose this service at checkout. That’s why we invested heavily in creating plugins for the most popular eCommerce platforms, to help merchants in just a few steps. This brings several quick benefits: higher delivery success rates, moderated prices, and a significantly reduced environmental impact.

  • The online sales context has changed too: there’s now a concentration of SaaS eCommerce solutions driving the market, with much easier and faster access for companies and entrepreneurs than before. Sales channels have also increased, with more marketplaces joining the longstanding presences of Amazon and eBay. So, the need to consolidate and manage shipments in one place—and quickly—is even more relevant.
